Hi,

I have just connected with Optus@Home (was using Bigpond ADSL) and now I do not seem to be able to get to my website...
nslookup of my domain gives the right IP address (tried with a bunch of different DNS) but browsing to the IP or domain gives an error. I even tried testing from www.alertra.com and it gives an error. Is O@H blocking port 80 to my box?

In short... YES.

Since the code red worm a couple years back Optus blocked port 80 on all client machines to prevent the spread of the virus.

But they also used this as an excuse to stop people running Webservers, you can't do anything about it because if you ask them then you are pretty much admitting to wanting to violate their userage agreement which says no servers (HTTP, FTP etc).

So best bet is to just put it on another port such as 81, 8080 or anything you want :)
