Post subject:  Can't see server on inside of my network, only from outside

I share a cable connection using floppyfw. It works great. I have recently added a Madrake 8.1 box with Apache inside my network. I have fowarded the ports and can see my web server pages from work, but when I try to view the pages on my server from an internal computer it does not work. A friend sugested I change the hosts file but it doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!!

On your internal network you will need to connect using the local IP address (i.e. 192.168.0.x) whereas the outside world will connect using your external ISP provided IP address.

e.g. Say your system is 192.168.0.10 with port 80 then use this:

http://192.168.0.10:80/

and say your ISP given IP is 203.164.132.114 then the outside world would connect to the system via:

http://203.164.132.114:80/

as long as you have setup the appropriate port forwarding rules.

Hope this helps.
