      Contests

     

    In an effort to get more involvement from the visitors of the site we have decided to run competitions on a continuing basis, these will range from smaller in-site based one to hopefully larger scale ones if we get the support from external companies. All competitions are judged by the crew of the site and our decisions are final, please make sure that you are 100% clear on the details of each as rules and restrictions apply on each, as detailed in the competition details. Generally there will only be a prize for the 1st place winner, but on occasions we may provider 2nd and 3rd runner up prizes.

    Script Competition
    Closing Date: 14th of December 2001
    Drawn Date: 24th of December 2001 (contacted by e-mail and news post on the site)
    Prize: Aopen KF45B Midi Tower Case - no PSU (kindly supplied by F.A.T. Computers) and "Powered by Linux" case badge.

    Details:
    We have made this contest have two main streams, you can choose one that best fits your skills.

    SCRIPT:

    • Must be either a CGI, PERL, PHP or similar script of your own creation.
    • Must be able to run on a Linux/Unix based webserver (testing will take place on a Red Hat 6.2 machine).
    • Contains useful features/information for a Admin of the server.
    • Should be easy to setup and use with graphical design.
    • Be as creative as possible.

    WALLPAPER:

    • Should be 1152 x 864 in size (1024 x 768 is the minimum resolution).
    • Must have TUX somewhere in the overall design (we suggest you use this tux image).
    • Must have the text "Linux" somewhere.
    • As with the script it must be your own creation.

    Other than the above criteria your are open to whatever you may come up with, good luck and don't forget to enter.

    To submit your entry please send it to contests@linuxathome.net in either a Zip file or Tarball for the script and a BMP or JPG for the wallpaper.
